Surely you need to set your fridge/freezer temperature a little higher?
Also, with regard to the ducks, that really happened, and luckily someone got the drains up and rescued all of the ducklings (at least so I was told... )
Well most fridges have numbers 1-9, isn't the higher number a cooler fridge?
I thought so anyway, never paid that much attention to it to be honest...
But ya what I should say is set the fridge temperature to a higher level.

My fridge is cooler than yours, it goes all the way up to 10. That's 1 cooler.
Your refrigerator uses the most kWh.
Other things that use more power but for less amount of time: dryer, ac, and stove.
Cut back on the use of those 3, and set your fridge&freezer temperature a little bit lower, also don't leave the fridge door open longer than you need to.
The rest of the stuff in your house uses miniscule amount of power, unless you leave your computers on when you're not using them.
