At least you have a properly prepared shepherds pie. I hadn't had one in a number of years so we went to this UK-ish themed pub that has like 600 different brews and serves fish n chips and shepherds pie. It turned out to be disgusting and I let the manager know it when he came asking how everything turned out. The pie was basically a bowl of unseasoned meat and carrots with a thick layer of mashed taters on top.
