There was a comment on the bbc live stream thing during the last match about "how many newcastle fans still dislike ashley for sacking houghton and bringing in pardew now?". I still dislike him for it, yes, pardew's done a good job so far but hughton didn't exactly deserve to be sacked, he did win the league.I'd be shocked if they're not back at your next home game. It seemed to me that the recent run of good results was almost an irritant which got in the way of the fans hating the fuck out of him.

There was nothing to suggest Pardew was going to be anything other than borderline shite, so Ashley can't claim momentous foresight, he was just lucky that things have come together this season.

When he was at (the real) United, I always thought he was skillful but was the kind of player who would be converted to a stricker in the Scottish Premier and score 40 goals a season but be rubbish in England wherever he went.
