what the difference between xp home and xp pro?
Don't really think there is much of a difference, from what I've seen on this board and others, the difference between Pro and Home isn't much, just a more admin options in pro, probably all the policy editing, and computer management, might not appear in Home either..

But as I said earlier, I’ve never used Home, so I can't really say too much about the differences.

Well the question is what would you be doing? any word, graphics ( photoshop, 3-d rendering), internet and multimedia program\use then macs are superior. If you want to game then a pc. Macs do get the pc games, but that is after a fair wait. Also you can get a $700-$800 mac that can use right click. I've been a pc man my whole life, i rember working with windows 3.1 and dos I also was exposed to the first mac with a user interface that is user friendly. Yet recently i have been drawn to macs for their stablity and eye candy. Then the hard core pc gamer inside me says what are you crazy? So it really is your choice, but if you are not going to be do gaming and you can learn irc and some diffrent programs for downloadin (kazaa dosen't run on macs) then go with the mac. If not then go with the pc

PC.. trust me it has 100s of advantages.

My friend chose the mac side, he hates it now cause I download all these games and stuff while he cant get anything but mear Mp3s and porn off a program called Poisen (kazaa for mac)

Oh yea..Suprnova isnt for macs.. heh they barely have any mac software.
You have 90% of useability when you got a pc. 7% on mac, 3% on linux.. etc

It is quite likely that your car probably has several PPC chips, quite a few of your household items (washing machine, dishwasher, etc) are controlled by PPC chips.
TiVo, too. and Microsoft & IBM have just announced this week that Xbox 2 will be based on a PowerPC processor.

no comment on which is "better" though. you can argue till you're blue in the face and never be able to convince people that there is some logic in buying the machine that suits your needs best, and perhaps Apple computers actually do cater to certain people's needs more than PC.

people keep making all those stupid "PC vs game console" threads in gameworld, too, where everyone comes in and says "PC has better grafx, it pwnz!" and "u can do more with PC." yeah, but can you play Dead Or Alive 3 or Metroid Prime on PC? you know? people miss the point, that the software (and especially exclusive software) defines the platform. it's the same deal with Apple-- if you love OSX and Mac programs like Final Cut Pro, then you buy a Mac.

I've heard Macs are the best for music creators, as the best music softwares come in the mac os, and for huges compagny as Mac is has the reputation to have a good custmomer service.

Macs seem to be best with video editing... I try to run anything on my PC like Premier etc... it has an error, other Pc,s i have used also have it... not stable enough... Macs (even the crappy imacs) are awsome with movie editing, and the new bryce 5.0 has network rendering, so i have gone to work (Wichita State University) and they have a complete lab of new emacs... anywayz no one uses them because no one like macs... i go and use the one G5 (the instuctors computer with projecter...) and have the enitre lab of 30 plus machines do the work... It gets done as fast as i can puch the buton, and that is with high res 600 pixels per square centimeter!! Anyway, i like to have both available.. for everyday use i go with PC simply because of the fact that PC has the games, and you can't see this website without windows... hehehehehehe windows is just endorsed everywhere... they are too powerfull right now for any other OS to get the games too... (although blizard makes there games Mac complient when they first come out... ie starcraft, warcraft) Macs seem to be usable for longer too even after 4 years (not sure but i think that is right) my g3 is still kicking my Pcs ass in performance... if oonly i had something to use that performance on... lol
Macs also make kickass servers by the way i run 2 web servers for macromedia coldfusion... They run reliably make no noise never get too hot... and cost $200 used on ebay... so... if it runs on mac then macs are worth it.. but like many apps today many are forced to wander down the road of PC...

i think you're relying too much on personal experience and not enough on "switch" parodies. i mean, sure, you could actually use a mac and then make up your mind-- but wouldn't you rather have someone else make up your mind for you with a high-larious sendup of ellen feiss?
