hey people a long time ago i read abt some manual settings in Advanced under options where i was suppose to change some figure to 80 on some blog, after applying those settings in version 1.8.4 my speeds were improved a little but one major difference was i use to connect to peers a lot faster then usual i lost those settings after formatting my disc any suggestions?

    net.max_halfopen?

    If so, remember two things:
    • you need to patch your TCPIP.SYS file for that tweak to be effective, otherwise it may even completely stop your uTorrent
    • it's not recommendable to set it above 50, and What.cd's tracker won't take more than 20.

it wasent like that where u have to patch any .sys file it was three or four steps simple settings formula.

They must be a few normal settings changes, then. Note there are no perfect values that will fit all connections, you have to find them out yourself. Newer uTorrent versions can do that by themselves via the speed guide.

Nice, I only have 3Mbit down and 0.2 up, and these are my settings:
Global maximum number of conections: 130
    Connected peers per torrent: 30
    Upload slots per torrent: 3
    Use additional upload slots...: yes

    Maximum download speed: unlimited
    Maximum upload speed: 20kB/s

Nope. It's setting a very low upload speed limit or leaving it uncapped that affects download speeds negatively.

That's how ISPs are around here.

Never heard about this. It doesn't make much sense to me, also.
