How did you fit an 80mm fan onto a 60mm heatsink?
The new one runs at 4219 RPMAlso what speed is it really? 4219 RPM or 2500 RPM?Coolermaster SAF-B83 Case Fan 80x80 --- Rotation Speed: 2500 RPM
If it's silent it must be 2500 RPM. If that's the case then how is it possibe that you have that much temperature improvement? It is almost totally silent! Way less sound coming from it then my old one.
Gee VB,
I didn't see that he claimed to have mounted the case fan to the HS.
One of us is confused.
Edit:Although I do agree that that is a pretty spectacular drop in temps for just using that particular heatsink. Maybe he moved his PC into a snowbank....

I realized that he didn't change the fan on the heatsink after I posted.
I still maintain that a 60mm fan at 4800 RPM on that heatsink plus his new 80 mm fan on his case cannot have that significant a temperature drop. I have experimented with that cooler many times before so I have a pretty good idea what the results should be.
I wonder just how deep he buried it in the snowbank?
My heatsink already had a fan on it. I bought a 80mm fan to push the air out of my system. I dont know how it is as cool as it is. But thats the temps its showing me in AIDA32.
