Did I Modify My Mp3?

i tried opening an mp3 in Acid 4.0 to see if ti supported mp3s. well, it went through a beatmapping wizard and i didnt save anythign i dont think. i was worrie dthat it might have saved some information with my song. i right clicked on my file and it said it was modified a long time ago so im guessing it didnt save anything. is it possible that the modified date could be wrong?
