One of those movies where you get something in your eye while watching the trailer:

And of coarse what would a trailer be without telling the whole plot?:

Haunted by a tragic past, ex-Marine Tommy Conlon (Hardy) returns home for the first time in fourteen years to enlist the help of his father (Nick Nolte) to train for SPARTA, the biggest winner-takes-all event in mixed martial arts history. A former wrestling prodigy, Tommy blazes a path toward the championship while his brother, Brendan (Edgerton), an ex-fighter-turned teacher, returns to the ring in a desperate bid to save his family from financial ruin. But when Brendan's unlikely, underdog rise sets him on a collision course with the unstoppable Tommy, the two brothers must finally confront each other and the forces that pulled them apart, facing off in the most soaring, soul stirring, and unforgettable climax that must be seen to be believed. -- (C) Lionsgate

Really bumed that there's no Australian release date, in fact it looks like it's only released in a few countries:

Just looked at Event Cinemas and they have limited screenings (none near me). There's a few DVDSCR's released today, I just want these studios to take my fucking money. It looks too good to waste 1.4GB on a shitty encode.

I saw this the other day; so long as you're not a fan of sweaty men prancing around on a stage or man enough to get water in your eyes you should be fine. Mind you, there was some good MMA moves in here and the sound design guy should get a medal. Can't believe how real the punches sounded; a real punch is more or less sounds like a heavy deep slap, not a fucking building falling down.

It's a character driven plot which surround a MMA setting, not a MMA movie with characters in it. Would go as far as to say it's one of my favourite 2011 movies.

    Great movie!

Characters were well built with nice meshing of plots. The MMA portion was well executed, looked realistic.
