I have one main Music folder, and a Music B folder for other stuff I don't want in my main playlist. Also have a Music Old folder where I put classical and other music that are not of the times but I want to keep. If needed I'll create a Music C/D/E/F folder. But then I also have 2 musicplayers installed where one is only for the main folder and I can play around with the other folders in the second player. If needed I do install a third musicplayer for some of the folders.
I know it sounds like a mess but what I try to do is having a random function that works for some music but not all, and mix it how ever I want.
Have changed a bit since then. Now I order albums by genre in uTorrent (yes), and move them to a separate folder after listening.
I'd then usually burn them to DVDs and delete them from my hard disk, but I think that with my new 1TB drive there won't be any need for that for a long while.

I just throw everything at itunes and it gets sorted.
I sort my music from FLAC and Scene from there its separated into Genre folders and alphabetically.
i dont .......
Inside folders, every artist has subfolder, than every album has it's own subfolder. Everything is tagged according to MusicBrainz rules. Especially classical music.
