You're way funnier than I usually give you credit for.
I'd come up with something witty to assert my intelligence, but I'm currently too frightened of coming up short.

As much as I hate to admit it, you're the closest thing to a "sensible" person I ever met online. You're both witty and intelligent. Usually chronic posters lack either attribute (both in megabytemes case).
Also it's not my fault you had a rare moment of brilliance right when I expected it the least.
Also, I usually assumed I would be Chandler, but all my friends in the "which friends character would you be" thread on * said I'm closer to Joey.

For starters one that doesn't use text shorthand .
Anyway to answer your question ,although in a way I just did , personally to me I'd like to get some sense of honesty coming from the person as to why they actually want to be a member of any particular site .
If someone says and they frequently do, that they want to be a member of FTN because it's ratio free but turn down any offers of PTM or easy to seed at sites with similar content then they don't really want to join FTN just because it's ratio free do they?
Other than that , and again this is just my personal opinion, a modicum of thought and effort in the request .
Sure that really means nothing more than the person can string together words coherently but since they took the actual time to string them together it tells me a least as much as any silly ratio proof and speed test is likely to.
Lastly and interpret this anyway you chose, but I would not consider inviting anyone that views this forum exclusively in terms of " what can I get from it" .
Respect my lack of authority.
