I have been using AVG for years, and it's always done a pretty good job but it isn't 100% I'm now using AVG and MSE together, i know you shouldn't mix anti viruses like that. But i figure it wouldnt hurt to do so.

I'm still using NOD32 and I like it a lot. Never had any problem with it.

Used to use Avira before. Was okay but the false-positive notices really bugged me.
I've tried out Kaspersky - had 1 y/r genuine license. Really slowed down my computer but does a good job detecting malware.
NOD32 is quite good, low CPU usage, and easy to manage but it can get complicated with the newer editions. It also detects false-positives at times.

I'm now using Microsoft Security Essentials and I am happy with it. You don't have to deal with anything serious with MSE. Just be careful if you want to install it on a non-genuine edition of Windows.

I'm using Avira and think its quite good, though I'm not sure about something I just thought of, does it protect against spyware/malware as well?

Are you using the free antivirus, the Premium one, or the security suite? I just checked the official Web site and the last two are supposed to protect you against spyware, while they don't say anything about the free one.

On a sidenote, I recall using AntiVir back inthe H+BEDV and free-av.com days.
