What is the best anti virus software to get?
I am getting a new Dell laptop. I am spending about $1,400 on it and want to make sure it last and remains fast. I want to get a good anti virus software for it but don't want it to slow my computer down, but I do want it to fully protect my laptop from viruses and hackers. I am willing to pay money for it so whatever the best anti virus there is is what I want. I will have windows 7 professional on it as well.

NOD32 2.7 plus the infinite trial "fix". Reliable, very fast, and uses little resources. There may be a better choice, but I can only comment on what I've used.

I have used it. Pretty buggy if you ask me. It just stopped working for no reason = no protection.

I am now using Avast! Internet Security, very happy with it.

Microsoft Security Essentials has done a great job so far.All those other av i used only slowed down my pc with all the bloatware crap and didnt do a good job at detecting viruses ... only if they were keygens from games or cracks.

I´m using Norton Internet Security for a while now and is very reliable in my opinion!
Just try it with a trial!

Nod32 + Tnod will be enough for now as it runs well even in low spec pc's plus with Tnod you wont need update license every now and then.
Bitdefender is good but only if you have 1+ Gb RAM same goes for Kaspersky.
AVG's detection system is good but its not performance based.

I have heard both Kaspersky and ESET Nod 32 are of the best out there. I have tried both and liked both.
