I live with the worst fucking human being. He is so manipulative and fake. He's gotten me and my other housemates on bad terms and tries to get us to go at each other when he's pissed off. Like if one of the guys eats his bread, he'll talk shit about him and try and get me to pick a fight with him. Now he's blatantly talking shit about me behind my back, and trying to get the other 2 to sign a petition to ban my gf from the house. Won't even attempt to mediate his issues with her with me, while I'm being more than generous to fix her 'messiness'. Worst fucking thing is I considered him one of my close friends for the past 2 years.

Words cannot express how pissed off/depressed I am to be stuck in this situation. FML he's a worse gossip than bitchy girls. FML for being too lazy to move out. FML I'm venting in a forum.

It sucks cause I know it will, and there's only a thread of self-control and self-awareness stopping me from having an all-out confrontation. Fucking people these days.

I also know I'm right, and just the fact I'm on these drugs is what is keeping me from being complacent. I hope I know who my true friends are; it's sad as fuck the number of people who would not be your friend if you didn't serve some purpose in their own little world.

Is it better to push to world away, cause you know its full of fakeness, or is the act of being fake yourself synonymous with growing up?


I've mostly done the former, starting maybe four years ago? Thankfully I still do have some close 100% friend friends, and I've met a fair number of good people over those cynical years, that I'm not a loner yet. Sometimes I think being an idealist is just fucking myself over. I must be pretty immature to burn so many bridges as of recent.

Well the medication has worn off, and sure enough now I don't really care that he's a jerk. Lease ends by summer, if he can't get over hating my gfs guts, well he's lost himself a friend. Either way actually. I'm gonna take some more tomorrow, remind me not to be so spastic...

Just my take on the subject, having lived with a number of different people over the years and not really knowing your situation , but I think it's near impossible to share a dwelling with anybody for any length of time and not at some point hate their guts.
Your roommate being fake and being such a terrible human being might be purely your perspective and if not then merely a consequence of the the situation and the time . Best thing to do ,as this everything , as Tesco said, is discuss it with people so you get ,if not solutions then at least a clearer idea of the whole ( and not just your ) truth.
If everyone agrees that he is an asshole and no tolerable middle ground can be found to get you through the rest of the school year then at least you have numbers on your side to try and force the situation.

Anyway you have to realize ( and get used to the fact) that no one , no matter how vile , views really themselves as a villain so trying to get a person change behavior just because you want them to is sometimes the closest thing to impossible that you are ever going to attempt .

Btw not to make light of the situation but people of your age tend to be self-centered and crazy in general and think that everything is a lot more world altering than it is. Consider yourself blessed to have youth , your health ,a roof over your head ,some intelligence , a girl that loves you and friends you care about you and try not to let things that in a year or two will be little more than a funny story to tell when you've had too much to drink , get the better of you.

PS when I was 20 I almost wrote a letter to the Pope ( and I'm not even religious, let alone Catholic ) over a bad circumstance . Thankfully I didn't , the insanity despair passed and now I honestly can't even remember the reason why I thought it so desperately necessary in the first place.

Also try to be nice to people even if they may not in your opinion deserve it. It's extremely hard for anyone to treat you poorly in return if you are nice to them.

PPS I could sit on a bed of broken glass , rusty razor blades and 6 inch spikes in a snow storm for someone else's bread some pussy the love of a good woman so fuck off and man up like .
