I guess with all the talks of different groups, this probably will happen. But everyone has to agree this won't sure all crimes etc it'll just force people to go underground.
Funny there not doing much too all those companies that deliberately acquire information of users for the purpose of selling on.

To get an idea of the nature of some people’s concerns we have the comments made by Dr. Linda Bulleto of the Organization for International Economic Relations.
She warns of the dangers of an Internet “without rules and regulations” where people have the ability to set up fake Facebook pages and attribute the comments to others.
That is the most idiotic reason why the Internet needs to be regulated.

Yea not going to happen. UN is a nearly useless organization.

More (governmental) groups want to have control over the internet, this could only leas to 1 thing: more censorship! We should stop this nonseense, now! I don't think anyone is have a problem with the current "wild wild west" internet. There's NO need for total control!

And seriously, if this is the reason behind their ideas, I want to note that the website is responable for the features it provides its users with. A fake FB account can get reported and removed, there NO need for a global law/rules to forbid 'fake account'!
