You could have a gazillion processors but your computer is only as fast as its slowest part, usually the HDD. I would rather see more breakthroughs in HDD speed than anything.

too true sandman. SSDs are the closest thing to a 'breakthrough' with storage unfortunately but they are getting better

too bad its sata2, something like that for sata3 or pci express 16x would be more impressive.
