Demonoid is great is you happen to live in a place where you don't have to be overly concerned about the authorities .
I've found things on Demonoid ,like certain older Asian films or many recent ebooks that I couldn't find on other private trackers supposedly even dedicated to that sort of thing .
If however you simply want to download the latest scene releases IPT is certainly a better choice.
As for ratio ( although I have a +2 on Demonoid) I think honestly people are mostly only concerned about it because they are forced to be or because they think ,as in the case of it effecting userclass , because they think it gives them special prestige or status or something.

and honestly, i dont think there is many user as you on Demonoid (keep seeding after finish), but for whom, that the spirit.
