Thread: This Is Really Weird

1. #1
I just partitioned my hard drive and made a seperate partition for downloads and I went on to suprnova and started downloading stuff to the new partition and every download is getting speeds of over 400kbs. When I usually get 100kbs average. I know the partition couldn't of sped up my downloads, but I thought it was a little weird.

maybe its doing that same thing as when people download from shareaza and it sais 400kb but its really way slower?

It really is going at that speed because in about 10 minutes I downloaded office 2003, and norton system works 2004.

Dont ask why it goes that fast. You might jinx it and then go slow again

Wow, that's incredible.

At 400Kb/sec you would manage 30MB in 10 minutes, whereas if you were downloading at 400KB/sec you could manage around 240MB in the same time. That's without taking packet loss and network overheads into account.
To transfer 400KBytes/sec you would need a broadband connection above 3Mb/sec.
You must be at work.

Note: calculations performed off the top of my head and are likely to be inaccurate lol
if your font size is this small i'll add you to my ignore list because you're wasting my time, OK?

so you cant get a residential cable or adsl acount that is able to download at over 200kb a sec im guessing ?

because you can get 2mb adsl wich is 200kb a sec isnt it ? since 1.5mb is 140kb a sec.

i have a question, might be slighty of topic, but does anyone know if 512cable is faster then 512 adsl ? or are they the same?
