Well you said it "standby" is that nothing works unless you set things up say wake up lan or whatever,if in Kazza I just leave it alone.
Have you set things for whine down etc in Control Panel - Power Options ? I only set the H/driver then turn the monitor off before I go to bed.
its just the first time i put my pc in standby (well not the first, but first overnight) because my drive was EXTREMELY hot
well i guess i wont be doing that much anymore...and yes properties in power options are set up correctly.... but what is this wake on lan thing you are talkin about? thx
DWk
Well cable is lan and companies are on it too so they set up lan when they go home and if an email comes in it wakes it up to receive it,ie all this goes is save abit of money and as you have found out keeps the hard driver etc abit cooler.
What do you mean by "extremely" hot and how do you know ?Originally posted by DWk@8 November 2003 - 05:40

DON'T touch it next time OR if you are VERY concerned get a h/drive cooler.
well standby does shut down most of the parts of ur comp........ HDD, Monitor, most of the processor........ but if u want 2 continue dl-ing its kinda useless, since ull need all those parts cept 4 the monitor.......... so i suggest jus turnin that off an gettin a betta coolin instalation............
great FTP site for awesome quality video clips
yeah, you have to sign up, but its worth it

You've got a real problem if your HDD is getting that hot.Originally posted by DWk@8 November 2003 - 06:00

Get yourself a copy of HDD Temperature Monitor and see what your readings really are.
My HDD would barely even qualify as warm.
