    Also pixie dust .
Last time I purchased pixie dust I was robbed. A guy convinced me that it was real, he even made one of his fifteen hot assistants disappear using it, but when I tried to put it on my orange I realized it was just sand. Does pixie dust have to be used be an actual pixie fairy to work?

so i know that if people are nice here, is not because they want an invite. everybody knows that level 10 trackers wont give away invites. 3 years ago we were heading towards 1000 members. now we are at 600 and still reducing. just a matter of strategy and choice. there will always be places on internet you can go if you want to learn about magic. just make sure you dont become a soldier.
This post beautifully demonstrates to me that AOM is one of the ONLY trackers out there that is solely about the ideal that BT was founded on. It's really too bad that more niche trackers aren't exactly like this(and yes, I realize there is some irony in me saying that). The smart people out there will know why without me having to point out all the things in your post that demonstrate your absolute lack of focus on anything but the content you share, and people you share it with wanting that content for the contents sake.

    It's actually kind of depressing...

Usually but not necessarily if you can find some unicorn horn to dilute it with.
Grade B horn is adequate if you can't afford the good stuff.

Bullies are more or less regular forum members who might have a huge post count and a following.

Does Charlie Sheen have any of that? I'm going to his party later on tonight. He completely fell for my "I'm Jenni Lee" act.

Where do affable idiots fit into the equation?

No real reason , just out of curiosity.

hi hagckz0r, the reason we want to reduce our members database is just to make sure we just keep the real advanced magicians and enthusiastic members. over the years i learned the hard way that having open doors wont give you the quality members that you want. in our art of magic, secrets ARE what make magic so magical and when we started AOM we found out that many none magicians joined, just to find out how things work. i can tell you a little secret... if you know how magic works, the magic is gone and you will never be able to experience the feeling of magic again. so keeping the website exclusive makes it possible for us to lift the quality of the website even more. a good community means also that members are willing to share and to help each other. the larger a site is, the more anonymous people are, and the less involved they are. we prefer to have an active community. this translates not only in an ever lasting flow of uploads but also a very high rate of seeding/leeching. so yes.. we will continue this strategy. inactive members get banned and only a very small amount of members gets accepted per year (say 5). if a strategy works, you should not change it right?

You dont open up, as you only keep or take users that can pay you, meaning they need to be old enough to have paypal
if you are a level 10 tracker, then AOMK must be a good 100, as we got 1000x more files than you, and with less members hahaha

Also please remember Jac you did not even start AOM, or have anything to do with AOM when it started,
It was Lenaud01, and his buddie who had filefight, and because Lenaud01 wanted more money, he left, and made AOM

You was appointed dogs body long after it was established, and it would not be here, or there now, if you hadnt of cried to lenaud01 about losing your power hungry position on AOM

Those off AOM who are still on AOMK even today know it, as well as you do too, as we are really not as easily fooled, or led by you

WHAT IS A TROLL, OR BULLIE :-
A Master Of Illusion Troll :-
Pulling countless white lies out of his hat, this Master of Deceit plays his tricks on the trusting eyes of an established internet community. Targeting those who still believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, his slight of hand in posting can be very deceptive to those members.

Some of the well-seasoned posters are privy to this game of cards. However, trusting souls are sucked quickly into his mind games. The point of controlling his act is, find the weak link in his house of cards, knocking them flat, thus ending his performance.

The Master of Illusion does have a motive. He is looking for personal gain. Either, money for a “sick mother,” or some personal form of satisfaction from manipulation techniques he employs. Perhaps he is searching for those he considers “beneath him,” so he can effectively saw their souls in half with the stroke of a few keys.

The key to defeating him is to discover his bag of tricks and expose the Ace up his sleeve, THEN REPORT HIM TO STAFF
Please help us nip this in the bud, as soon as it starts.

I actually find that there are two classes of people who cause maximum trouble on forums. One is of course, the traditional "troll" who wreaks havoc by anti-social behaviour and by deliberately riling up forum members to get kicks out of it, causing havoc and bad blood in the process.

I think as admins, we need to realize that there is another group which I would term as "online bullies" or "internet bullies" who can become equally destructive in undermining communities.

These gentlemen/ladies differ from trolls in the sense that they are not anti-social, but they are an accepted and sometimes well-respected members who assume a sort of informal and unofficial leadership role. They use this position to intimidate and assert their views on newer and less established members and often push their weight around to mark territorial rights. They will generally try and behave properly, but subtly try and behave like moderators and preach about forum behaviour. They will also turn and insult people as they wish and surprisingly other forum members will turn a blind eye to them. They will usually "adopt" ownership of a single forum or a subforum of a board and hang out there frequently with their clan. (this feature is usually more common in larger forums)

These people are often the starting point of cliques because they can gather a group of yes-people around them in no time.

Beware of these people and watch out for them because they can be a lot more trouble in the long run than isolated trolls running loose.

Sometimes you just need an excellent troll to combat an established forum bully

    Similarities between trolls and bullies:

    1. Both trolls and bullies can cause enormous damage to a forum by their behaviour.
    2. Both trolls and bullies usually have excellent communication skills using which they attack their opponents unmercifully.
    3. Both trolls and bullies can be intimidating to any normal forum user.
    4. Both trolls and bullies have the effect of creating bad blood.
    5. Both trolls and bullies are hard to control without intervention right from the top - the forum administrator(s) or owner(s) because even moderators might find it hard to control them without support from others.

    Differences

    1. Trolls are usually isolated. They are generally short-lived in a forum. A person who signs up on a forum specifically to troll doesn't hang around in other parts of the forum and leaves as soon as the damage is done.
Bullies are more or less regular forum members who might have a huge post count and a following.
    2. Trolls usually hit and run. A successful troll needs only a couple of posts in a single thread to turn it into a raging tornado.
Bullies stay on and intimidate other members by throwing their weight around and using their group of yes-people to lend force to their powerful attacks.
    3. Trolls are usually identified for what they are.
Bullies rarely get identified for what they are, because they are regular members and nobody can suggest that they are ordinary trolls because they have a huge post count.
    4. Trolls hardly respond to challenges. Instead they enjoy watching others fight.
Bullies enjoy fighting and run around bashing everybody who dares oppose them.
    5. The potential damage done by trolls is limited to a particular topic of discussion or at most a forum.
The potential damage done by bullies is forum-wide and not related to topics, but to the personality of the bully and the kind of respect and influence he wields.
