Is it normal to get higher uploads than downloads on bittorrent?
Is it normal to get higher uploads than downloads on bittorrent?
yea i guess, that always happen to me. man its bullshit i think..
Of course that is possible u are uploading to more than one person as well as downloading but your download will pass it when it gets more seeds or leechers.
lol that often happens with me on emule. i be uploading at like 50Kb/s and my download will be like only 30Kb/s well thats just how it is
That's good though before I knew how to get better speeds I was gettin like 5-15 kb/s
How do you get better speeds???Originally posted by Gre1@8 November 2003 - 19:29

I get my best speeds using shadows experimental torrent software and matching the settings to my internet connection.
I have ADSL 576 and set the torrent to DSL/cable fast.
Speed for a single download peaks around 40 kbps.
A 1.53 gig file took 16 hours today.
DOWNLOADING IS FUN - SHARING IS SUBLIME
When all else fails - read the instructions!!!
LEEDS UNITED - WE'LL BE BACK
BitTorrent, like practically ANY other file-sharing program, cannot download IN TOTAL faster than everyone is uploading IN TOTAL.
So if 10 people are uploading at 10 KB/sec each (total = 100 KB/sec), if there's 10 downloaders then on average the downloaders are only getting 10 KB/sec each.
If you're getting faster download rates than upload rates on a POORLY-SEEDED Torrent, then it's probably at the expense of others. THEY are almost certainly uploading faster than they're downloading.
Due to upload failures, it's possible for there to be 100 KB/sec total upload speed but only ~90 KB/sec total download speed. This happens often if people haven't limited upload bandwidth to what their connection can sustain.
