Characters I liked (in no particular order): Buffy, Spike, Cordelia (hawtness factor before Angel, Faith, Willow (innocence gone BAD is often tastee), Oz, Anya, Dawn

EDET- Upon second thought, I think I aught to throw old Spike a bone , and say he deserved his own spin-off. Far more interesting (ultimately) than the other guy.

Top 3 female characters in order: Anya, Drusilla, Willow
Top 3 male characters in order: Spike, Giles, Angel (not in early Buffy seasons or late Angel seasons, but was good in between)

Honorable mentions:
Oz, I really liked the character concept but he was a bit too low key for Seth Green.
Xander, I liked his character when I would just catch the random episode, but after watching it through he's a douche and really not an enjoyable character.
Faith, hotness should be mentioned, but she was also a character with some depth.
Cordellia, definitely has to be mentioned for the hotness, but she needs a ball gag.

So which Season of Buffy do consider to be the best or alternately which was had best villain?
I just having the opportunity to rewatch them all as they are currently being re-run on MoreMuchMusic in Canada .
They are up to Season 5 right now which despite having some really weak episodes also sees Spike coming into his own as something more than simply a comedic figure, Willow starting to understand the sort of power that she is truly capable of ( the focus of Season 6) ,morals getting decidedly murkier and ends on a terrific high note with "The Gift" which consequentially is one of only two that year written by Joss Whedon.

Also this is a serious discussion about a late 90' early 00's TV show based on a fairly poor 1992 movie that starred a guy from from Beverly Hills 90210 , Jack Bauer's dad and PeeWee Herman about a former high school cheerleader and her loser friends who fight demons and repeatedly save the world so I would appreciate a little less levity.
