    I have a laptop with a TV-out, do i need a special s-video cable or can i use the one that comes with a camcorder?

    they all work the same when it comes ti S-video wires..
    A newer one might have stronger material that cant age as fast, but that's all.

    any s-video cable will work, if u dont have s-video on ur tv u can get a s-video to rca that looks like this...
