I found a unique group of individuals who focuses on having, and sharing, that access to others with the same interests. It is a realm that skirts several laws of "the establishment" for the greater good of the masses. Unfortunately, most of these down loaders do not take full advantage of the materials/media they obtain. No one is hurt by this, but accountants claim damages every time someone downloads a song. Will it get listened to? Will it be liked? Would the consumer have ever purchased without hearing the songs?

Regardless of that, those who have desires- and know where to get them filled, we can indulge in entertainment- movies, music, books, magazines, artwork, comedies, foreign media, and infinitely more....

This is the first bloodless battle for the freedom of electronic information (media). How hard are you willing to defend what we have here? I believe it is worth fighting for. Gather your friends, and look closely at your cause. What will you do for it?

Hah. It looks like yesterday that I read about some invite-only trackers and thought I'd never get on those, because they were invite-only. I was fortunate enough to have a friend offer TL out of the blue on an MSN conversation, however.

For a long while, my only accounts were ILT, bG and TL, and those were already too much for me. Lost TL due to inactivity in late 2007, actually. Same happened to ILT on mid-2009.

I never thought being a member at this or that tracker would make you a better person in any sort of way, though. I got in torrenting for the files, stayed for the files, and left it because I found a better way to get those files, it's as simple as that.

I wouldn't have paid for most of the stuff I download, that's for sure. If piracy wasn't a possibility, I'd be using Grooveshark to listen to my music and waiting until the latest movies are on TV. Or maybe even go to the cinema, if I hear exceptionally good reviews about a movie (and that's still subjective).

I'm not a torrenter. I'm a file sharer. Always been a file sharer. whatever method/protocol gets you that super rare file you've been looking for for months. Not nostalgically and irrationally holding onto one method longer than it needs to logically be used for, always moving onto whatever is the best at the time. Always will be that way.

And as a result, I continue to use many methods for a variety of reasons. Including of course torrents.

I don't have a love for torrents - for the torrenting method. I have a love for files, sites, communities, people, and an endless fascination for file sharing (and everything that surrounds it) in general. Mostly I find bittorrent irritating now. LOL

It's hard to remember the real reason but there was a definite transition for me between DCC files on IRC to using torrents. Probably something to do with ease-of-use because let's face it, easiest option always wins.

Someone on a general forum posted about a site I could use to download free porn. The site in question, cheggit, had just opened up to the public I believe. I ceased being a "torrenter" when I got fed up with the bullshit.
