Mate tri.
Right click "my computer">properties, then click the computer name tab.
@ SMID
Run regedit
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
You'll see your sons name, change it to yours then reboot.
Edit. This name is not used to activate xp.
@Kunal - stop spamming.
@Globalterinator....... Please go and register with a name that isn't quite so long; you're making the board look very messy.
LTBukem
I was told my name has to be the same as before, to reactivate XP is this just Bull Shit.
What Kunal trying to say
your talkin about the 'registered to' name, yeah?
thats all set up during activation, probably will have to re-do the whole set up
oops, i see the reg key LT was talkin about...yeah, just change that
I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave.
I will work to elevate you just enough to bring you down.
If M$ have told you this, ask them what you would have to do if you bought a system with the installed WinXP OS second hand and needed to re-activate.Originally posted by SMID@9 November 2003 - 16:22

I presume you have the same surname as your son? M$ should be able to guide you through the process of un-registering XP, entering new information and then give you the correct key to unlock it.
if your font size is this small i'll add you to my ignore list because you're wasting my time, OK?
