In light of the fact you were so kind to offer the links and as 'thanks" were up to this point only greeted with the wit of last two posts I feel obligated to comment.
I totally enjoyed the Fast Five one even if it didn't work especially well for me as satire since I imagine it's very close to being the truth.

I believe the same could be said for the one posted with regards to Mulder's gf.

Sorry but as it presumably concerned Mulder's sex life I was frankly afeared to look.

It's worrying; entertainment is being pornified. I haven't seen this film but I imagine it's a lot like Thor: small snippets of instant gratification strung out into a 1.5 hour sequence. It's not just films either, it's life in general. It sometimes feels like life is just becoming a stream of disjointed, random events lasting no more than 30 mins at a time. Or maybe that's just me

I like to think of myself as a movie buff but things have gotten so bad studiowise filmwise that I can't even muster up the enthusiasm to steal any of the new releases off the internet.
Shame to hear about Thor ,I was genuinely looking forward to it as I thought Branagh might the man to add some weight /breathe some life into the Shakespearean tragedy aspects of the story . Of course seeing what Ang Lee did with The Hulk I wasn't holding my breath.

As for Fast Five as one critic pointed out it's greatest sin is trying to be smarter than it is. That and as caper flick castings go Vin Diesel ain't no George Clooney .

Not to worry .Probably just the voices in your head telling you that.

Somehow, I can't picture him pulling off a convincing Hannibal Lecter, either.

I feel compelled to post this. Although everyone is entitled to their opinion I still feel that there must clearly be another Fast and Furious series and just my luck I'm watching the incredibly stoopid one.
I just got back from theater and saw Fast Five, it was awesome-- action action and more action. The addition of the Rock was very cool and i can't wait for the next one that will be coming after this. Make sure if you see it at the theater watch the credits afterwards there is another scene that comes up. This one and the last one were a great way to bring Fast and the Furious back like it was in the beginning with Paul Walker and Vin Diesel back together again. The two of them are great together on screen in my opinion
Btw I watched Tokyo Drift on TV yesterday and except for the block of wood Lucas Black as the lead it was still better than the last two F&F's combined .
Even at that it still sucked.
Not as bad as Faster of ye lovers of The Rock.

You know what you look like to me, with your good bag and your cheap shoes? You look like a rube. A well scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste. Good nutrition's given you some length of bone, but you're not more than one generation from poor white trash, are you, Agent Starling? And that accent you've tried so desperately to shed: pure West Virginia. What is your father, dear? Is he a coal miner? Does he stink of the lamp? You know how quickly the boys found you... all those tedious sticky fumblings in the back seats of cars... while you could only dream of getting out... getting anywhere... getting all the way to the FBI.
I dunno I could see it.
