Which 3d Card Is Better?

I've heard that the 9600XT is supposed to be brilliat, but which card gives the best performance for the best price?

Just type the name of the card and Benchmark in a search engine. i have a TI 4200
and it does a great job for the price. all my games run smooth as silk. and the card is less than $100

That's great, my friend has a Geforce 4 TI4600 Ultra XTC which slaughters the TI4400

Generally NVIDIA ones are more stable, whereas more recently ATI ones take less room, this only comes into play with GFFX though, I'd go with a cheap FX myself, that way you get the latest tech, and there are fairly cheap ones out there.

EDit: are you looking for the best available graphics-card, or the best 9600 card?

from the reviews i've read the 9600XT is fractionally faster than the 9600Pro, but far more expensive - the 9800 is still much faster than both
