Software bloat is a term used to describe the tendency of newer computer programs to have a larger installation footprint, or have many unnecessary features that are not used by end users, or just generally use more system resources than necessary, while offering little or no benefit to its users.

    Xbox Live is not bloatware.
i know what bloatware is. and by your definition, yes, xbox live is bloatware.

One could get so picky and consider Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player as bloatware. Even less picky than that, Windows Media Center would be bloatware.
yea, those are pretty much bloatware as well. the only reason i even sometimes have internet explorer installed is because some poorly written programs go apeshit if it not installed, ie. they use internet explorer instead of default browser in their programming. that and the idiots that design government and military websites always rely on the oldest version of the worst browser for what they call "security".

Besides backing up and limited budget SSD drive purchases, installation footprints aren't just that big a deal. Minimalists would be practicing hypocrisy using Windows without a forced reason to do so.
