Reboot. If that don' fix it, then reinstall.
Edit: Wait, I read it again... make sure you are logged in an Administrator.

yea i am an administrator and have restarted a couple of times.. any one else see anything i can do.

try using another admin account
There are several possibility's. You did try to install it under Administrator, right?
What OS are you running? It is also possible that the install file is corrupted. That is my guess. This means that it just wont work. I don't know alot about Windows rights, but if you were on a .nix machine then you could try installing it under root.

i really dont know how I could have disabled any of that stuff.. although since i dont know how i would, i might have.. but anyway, i really need to install norton and I know the file works cus i installed it before. I also accidentally got a virus off irc.. lol a movie shouldnt be 27KB and an exe file. Anyway, as my computer starts to smoke, I could really use an antivirus quick.
