Hacking is simply a skill someone can have and is not the only thing he can be. A lockpicker does not have to be thief, in fact a lot of police officer might have this skill. Yet when we thing lockpicker we quickly think thief, same with hackers. A hacker can simply gain access to the systems, the thief takes stuff from the system. The thief can also be an hacker. A hacker however does not have to a thief.

If I were to find someone roaming around in my house, or even my shed, I would want them arrested- or shot. Breaking in, or wandering in (in the case of an unlocked door) does not make someone "harmless". The fact that they came in, where they were uninvited, makes them a threat. So what if they have not stolen, or harmed anyone yet?

If the thief or otherwise uninvited guest entered your house using keys, would you call them a lock picker?
