Acolyte? Parabolic much? I'm familiar with IRC because it was the quickest way to grab anime releases in the past. I'm still relatively new to privbt, so I never got sucked up fully into its culture.

Now about the HD fanboy, it's not an accurate insult. I'm actually just a video artefact detester. I didn't mind poor quality video before when I had a small box TV. But after spending $1500 on a large flat panel and $3600 on my eyes, I want to maximize benefits from using both. However, I have only my TV's built in speakers and poor clarity in my hearing, so I'm happy with pretty much any audio. So whether it's SD or HD, MPG2 or x264, just leave out the blocks and it'll satisfy me.

As far as connecting filesharing and media with my academia, what exactly does any of this have to do with Electrochemistry?

In the odd,left of centre universe I inhabit ,people who know that sort of stuff are considered to be a little light in the loafers and generally avoided unless you need someone to beat up.
