I know some people who are pro at driving with one hand and using a phone, mega quick at swapping hands but I can not understand how people think they can read and reply to text messages, I find THAT crazy. If in dash satnav are dangerous then why are they allowed to sell cars with them?

I personally think the root cause isn't the gadget. It's why do they feel the need to use the gadget?Clearly something isnt right with our roads to make you feel you need to multi task.I know if they increased speed limits, I'd be way more focused on the road. I'd also get to my destination quicker reducing the urge to respond immediately. A drive that in the middle of the day takes 40 minutes, but at 2 am takes 8 is clearly an issue.8 minutes, I can wait and respond when I'm done driving.40 minutes? F it, there's an App for that.

speaking of apps... there's zero reason to text anymore. there's speech to text apps that allows u to just talk to the phone and send text without "texting".
