Always remember that in the US, it is not about proving innocence, but whether you can afford to prove your innocence. As soon as money is involved, it is no longer about whether you are innocent, but whether you can afford to prove your innocence. Basically, an organisation can level an accusation at someone, and as long as they have more money than the defendant, can carry the accusation to completion, regardless of whether that accusation is truth or lies. Only in the US can someone be guilty of something because they don't have the money to clear their name.
