I listen [and have since 1981] to heavy metal, however, there are many subgenres, here are some
    Alternative metal
    Avant-garde metal
    Black metal
    Christian metal
    Death metal
    Brutal/Technical death metal
    Doom metal
    Sludge metal
    Extreme metal
    Glam metal
    Groove metal
    Industrial metal
    Neo-classical metal
    Power metal
    Speed metal
    Symphonic metal
    Thrash metal
    Traditional heavy metal
    Viking metal
    Folk metal
    Funk metal
    Grindcore
    Metalcore
    Melodic death metal
    Nu-metal
    Progressive metal
    Rap metal
    Stoner metal

I am always in the search for more metal, doesn't matter the age. Any suggestions will be appreciated

    Funk metal? Seriously?
I do love funk and I do love metal but frankly I doubt it could be any good.

    Check this out http://www.metal-archives.com/
Even though I'm sure you are already aware of this site.

    Then there is last.fm http://www.last.fm/tag/metal
You can go from there. I'm sure you can find something useful.

Found an article about funk metal on wiki.
I wouldn't consider most of those artists "metal" but found some interesting bands like Psychefunkapus, Faith No More.

    Cheers.

P.S. I see you've listened to some grindcore but what about porngrind?

There have always been loads of metal subgenres, but I've given up trying to decide what I like by subgenre. I simply try anything that is metal, because half the time the subgenres are either overly exclusive or just don't make sense.

Even Ozzy Osbourne who barely has a coherent thought anymore thinks all this unnecessary sub-classification is silly.

    Respect my lack of authority.

I don't generally analyze the genres that a particular album may fall under, but here are some favorites: Folk, dark ambient, downtempo, slowcore, post-punk, new wave, psychedelic rock.

The genre isn't really important. If I like it, I listen to it. Some songs you simply can't classify.
