hehehe, possibly... gigli is a pretty big feature...

I make animations, and the raw ouput that you get originally can be over 100 gigs, for full lentgh, ( as in 2+ hours) but yes it could be straining...

I don't think you really reach the peak HDD bandwidth doing that. Your CPU would be too busy to devote power to tranfer at those peaks.

Your motherboard supports serial ata 150! You don't need an ATA card, go for something like this:
