I activated one of the keys and so far my account is fine. I know that the keys leaked are legit keys and some were given any properly as part of the promotion. I don't think Steam will do anything to my account and I will be able to keep the game. But I will keep you guys posted.

Valve is well within its rights to remove the game from everybody's clients, until proof of purchase is submitted. Deleting the accounts is a tad drastic, for a blunder that can be dismissed much more easily.

A different view:
"This past weekend, activation keys associated with free Dirt 3 game vouchers shipping with select AMD products were compromised. These activation keys were hosted on a third-party fulfillment agency website, www.AMD4u.com, and did not reside on AMD’s website. Neither the AMD nor Codemasters servers were involved.
