    I don't think the "science is obsolete" joke really works in the same scenario that you acknowledge people need to do something with the information. Anyways, the "game" is tedious and not very fun, so I'm surprised it really yielded something major.

    Foldit is actually a really great "game". I've been playing it for a few weeks now and actually learning something about proteins in the process. If you like puzzles, then play Foldit. Be prepared to get frustrated though, there are many unsolved puzzles that will likely remain unsolved for some time - time being the operative word as it really will be a matter of time as everyone who plays, contributes.
