apple... what a bunch of self-indulgent twats.
Don't like Apple? Fine. But I'm not that crazy about news/legitimate threads being the spam-spot for fanboy wars and trolling comments. Want to debate? Again, that's fine. But when that debate devolves into name calling and/or cynical fanaticism (especially when you're the only one who has even commented), it's not a good use of anyone's time. Also, if you've come to FST for the express purpose of whipping people into a frenzy (or whipping yourself into a frenzy), don't expect to stick around very long. It's easy to spot the folks who want to have a healthy debate and the folks who just want to troll. Seriously, Apple, Android, Microsoft, whatever fanboys, please just go away unless you have something intelligent to say on the matter.

Basically, its like this. Apple makes something................... and every fker copies it. There were no tablets till the iPAD........... now everybody is doing one, now they now how its done. And every smart phone is layed out or looks just like an Iphone,.... some more than others........... hello samsuck..! If u got the dough, buy the real deal, or forever wish u had........ while you play with the knock offs........
Press conference to launch new product... self indulgent? Grow Up.

point taken.
its not that i dont like apple. im just tired of everyone fawning over apple, thinking they are such pioneers in the industry although, to a point, yes they are. like drokk54 just said about the tablets. apple did not invent the tablet, nor the smartphone, nor the personal mp3 player. while they did make them more marketable than they were before, i'm tired of people (including apple) giving themselves credit for more than they deserve. but i get your point. i should better articulate myself next time.
As much fun as it is to point out the truth to apple fanatics, it's also pointless. Apple fanboys are akin to religious fanatics, in that they respond to it the same way religious people respond to their faith in god. You can remind them that Apple isn't an innovator, they are a marketer. They take a form factor/device type that's been done, and make it more popular by designing and branding it, calling it innovative, and then overpricing it. Sure, they run a successful business on that strategy, but then again their consumers are easy marks. They comprise of a large ratio of consumer in pursuit of an elitist culture.
No one gets excited over their iPhone 3G anymore. Apple really has no real variety, which is what I think is their shortcoming. Of course fanboys get their panties in a bunch over new releases, slowly Apple feeds them what they ultimately want... something different.
On the other hand, I spent a lot of time figuring out what I wanted in a phone, OS, form factor, features, style, etc. With Apple, you're stuck with what they provide until they make a newer version, I would feel sorry for all those people, but then again it's not like they even knew what they wanted before hand.
Also, skiz, you contribute the absolute least to any of these conversations, why don't turn a little introspect on your rant. At least attempt to redeem yourself and express some opinion instead of cowering on the sidelines (if you want to make that kind of judgmental speech).
Everything is brought to you by Fjohürs Lykkewe.
Just like how iOS 5 is essentially an update playing catch up to other competing OS's? Essentially every new "feature" is copied off of RIM or Android or WP, whether it be iMessage, notifications, widgets, etc., and they were all obvious features that were clearly overdue for a "modern" OS. Of course, they'll claim that they are "taking a mobile operating system that was already years ahead of anything else and moving it even further ahead", and all the iSheeple will believe it anyway.
I also have yet to see any justification for spending $500 on an overpriced, oversized Ipod touch known as the Ipad. Its too big to be as portable as a phone, and too limiting to be even close to as productive as a laptop. The only barely sane reason for getting such a form factor is for very casual web browsing/videos, and I think Amazon has hit the nail on it's head with it's new, (significantly) cheaper tablet that is every bit as capable. Hopefully with that this ridiculous Ipad fad will end.
The holographic keyboard had my jaw drop. It feels like any day now when the machines will take over.![]()
