Just pondering the endless amounts of valuable information, and contrasting that to all of the mindless crap, scams, porn, etc. available online.

I began wondering if the internet became self-aware ala Skynet, would it kill itself, or be an amazing new life form? What would you ask it (not a search engine question, but more of a philosophical, intellectual query)? Would such a mind be seen as a god? Would nations try to isolate it? Would religions try to silence it?

What other issues can you think of that would occur?

Feel free to spam this, or answer it thoughtfully. Just noticed it was a very slow day yesterday, and thought I'd kick some of you in the nucking futs...

Just saw Oleg come and go. Thought for sure he'd want to get Phyllis Sophycal.

Mainly just in a sleep-deprived, tired yet silly state.

I was forced to fall off the wagon 2 weeks ago while moving full-sized wood shop equipment from their location in the basement to our newly enclosed, and mostly finished garage/shop on the ground-level. I had a 1-month prescription waiting for me at the pharmacy (kind of a "ace in the hole") for serious pain, or serious project. 1 month supply of morphine consumed in 1/2 the time is nice. I've just finished the 4-days of withdrawal, and am doing "fine"*.

*Relatively. At least no memberships online, or IRL, were deleted this go around.

    Whatever.

You don't come across as much of a knob when you're off it. I can spot the difference.

Don't take on silly jobs when you're a fat paraplegic. That'll be 250 merkin squids. Spastic.

Ya know that is almost worth the $250! How often do you get a compliment out of the Irish grinch (even a backhanded one), I'd say that was money well spent and have it framed I would.

You are right, Art. I'm guessing that's probably the nicest thing he's said to anyone in a while.

Now of course, after pointing out that there is a gooey center to that hairy, wildeyed, wopped Gaelic outer, he is going to have to go out of his way to prove me wrong.
