Manipulation is something that happens on a vast spectrum in every relationship. From you trying to use words to alter my thinking here to my missus somehow influencing my vehicle choice before I was aware of her existence.
Some of it is reprehensible, most of it is a harmless by-product of human interaction - we all try to influence others' behaviour in order to obtain something we want in every facet of existence.

I duno what drives me really to keep posting in this thread. At first it was the schadenfreude, then i felt some empathic pathos and tried to help. Right now it's possibly because I know the minute i stop posting, I have to do a set of accounts.
If I seem driven to defend women, it's because I like them. They've always treated me very well and while I can't understand some things they do or say, i do seem to be able to relate to them very well indeed.
I think most men are like this.
