You can always use port 563.

That ones throttled as well only ones that are not are port 23 and 8080 i think.

    Non ssl.

Its like it lets you get so much and then kicks you down to 300k...

    ssl-eu.astraweb.com port 443 throttled.

    ssl.astraweb.com port 443 not throttled.

    WTF...

Virgin throttles all P2P traffic too. Probably only way to get past their throttling is to get a VPN provider.

I use all 3 SSL servers, all 20 connections, and rarely have speed issues. I might get the occasional 1-3Mbps drop but it is usually short lived. All 3 of Astraweb's listed SSL servers, have different IP addresses assigned to them.

I thought SSL meant the traffic was encrypted, so how are they telling it's relating to file sharing? I don't see why it would work fine without encryption, but not with encryption. It should be the opposite if they're filtering file sharing traffic. I just restarted my SABNZB and it seems to of fixed it.

Well it seems they broke ssl on port 563, but left port 443 alone because its used for online banking, but the now seem to be trying to slow that port down as well.

Plus from what i hear they are thinking of scrapping the stm across the board and bringing in a (personal usage
alowance) as well as, adaptive throttleing, ie the more you ride your connection the slower it gets.!!!!!! (similar to comcast system.)

Btw its the eu ssl server that appears to have throttleing at the moment on port 443
But it seems a bit random, (wonder if they are trialing the adaptive throttle) as i hear its
starting first half of next year (source-cable forums)..

Hmmmm as of 18:25 everything seems ok again, must have been something else???

That's what I was intending to point out, that it could be just a specific server issue.
