Thread: What Do You Think The Best Song Ever Written Is?

  1. #1
Lets see what you all think the best song to ever have been written, theres been lots of brilliant song writers over the years Billy Joel has always been one of my favourite song writers out there and the song "Piano Man" basiclly telling his life story to date when he wrote it. Jim Morrison too "When The Music Is Over" has always been another one of the songs everytime I hear the lyrics it moves me the line "The Scream Of The Butterfly"

Songs that lyrics are just incredible and move you and show lots of emotion

    name a few

I reckon Bob Dylan is definately the best songwriter ever...and my favourites by him are...

    "All Along The Watchtower"
    "House Of The Rising Sun"
    "Hurricane"
    "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"
    "Like a Rolling Stone"

    Agreed.

While Dylan was one of the greatest my personal favorite is one of his students in the school of rock: Bruce Springsteen. It seems like he (Dylan) and Springsteen were cut from the same mold when it comes to song writing. Both are absolutely the best at their craft. So here's my list:

    Thunder Road
    Born To Run
Darkness On The Edge Of Town
    Adam Raised A Cain
    Born In The U.S.A

This list could go on forever but those are just a few.

I can't remember the name of the guy who composed it but...

The Theme Song from Indiana Jones.
