So the site I usually download Wii games from seems to be compromised in terms of receiving warning letters after downloading certain games. Would anyone know of a quality game tracker for Wii titles where I wouldnt have to worry about this? Ideally they are open now for signups, or bare minimum have signups open up fairly often. Thanks

nTorrents, PWNNetwork or however it's called now had Wii games. I've also heard BCG has a good selection.

Any site you would recommend in particular from that list for privacy concerns. I got freaked out after I saw in the comments sections for the latest kirby game people again and again receiving warning letters from their ISP's.

Private sites are not (as you've just discovered) a guarantee that you won't receive a warning letter. No site can guarantee that--the nature of the bittorrent protocol is far too open--so you might just as well continue downloading from wherever you are now for all the difference it makes. Or you could try any of the sites mentioned, or bitgamer or even thepiratebay (which isn't private but that's irrelevant in this context).

The only ways to genuinely protect yourself are to use a VPN or a seedbox.

Both bcg and pwn are quite secure. Never heard of anyone having any legal problems from either.
    cheers

No site is 100% safe, but it depends on its size and approachability. A place like PussyTorrents (which has 350000+ users and open signups) is way more likely to get you flagged than SCC, for example. Even though BCG currently has open signups relatively often, I haven't heard of anyone receiving a letter from there. An updated IP filter could help.

But that's to be expected, not because they're in any way safer, simply because they're smaller. 40000 members compared to, say, thepiratebay with >4000000 members. So even if you heard of 100 TPB users receiving letters for every 1 BCG user receiving a letter the chances of being caught on either site would actually be exactly the same.

And consider that your total downloading+seeding time on a private tracker is often far far longer than on a public tracker--you sometimes have to seed back for weeks or even months--so you're exposed for much longer.

I could say several other things but I'm not trying to scare people. Downloading without any protection at all is actually pretty safe, and seedboxes and VPN's do make it as near as possible to totally safe.
