Norton Internet Security 2004 Pro -> Sygate Personal Firewall Pro
proud to be american
I also recommend those replacements. I've used them all, and I think Symantec AV Corporate and Sygate Personal Firewall are better than NAV2004 and NIS2004.Originally posted by Paul@14 November 2003 - 04:41

Yes it dus quite a good job todoes norton internet security do the same job as a firewal
sis Norton gets it's Antivirus definitions from Symantec thay wood both stop exactly the same viruses that and most ppl wont be installing it for Corporations eg a Rocket Launcher for home defense wen a barretta wood do a fine job and useing less effort but with same results eg no virusI recommend the following replacements:
Norton Antivirus 2004 Pro -> Symantec AV Corporate 8.1.1
Norton Internet Security 2004 Pro -> Sygate Personal Firewall Pro
and most if not all Firewalls work in the same way of port monitoring and blocking but Norton Internet Security 2004 Pro has added features such as ad blocking and lots more features.
They use the same virus definitions (although they are different in size/format). But Norton 2004 is a real resource hog. The corporate version does a much better job.
I know 2000 is a hog and 01,02,03 but 2004 runs so fucking fast for me it boots up as if nortons not installed at all now thats fast
got NIS2004PRO from there...activation works..
but the program hogs my pc like hell!
increased my startup time to more than twice the normal time...made other icons in the taskbar disappear upon booting up...and most importantly ate up my memory upon startup until it got down to 60+mb after everything loaded(normal for me is 180+ immediately after startup, i've got 256mb ram installed)...and this happenened not once but several times after i tried rebooting or cold shutdown.
damn...i'm dumping this....
