The computer makes weird noises at boot up and then stops after a while. What's wrong? Is it normal?

N o could be hard drive, fan . Not good see last post lol
Yeah sounds like the fan go down easy cause of all the heat so much for greased for life glad i'am not.
Yeah... Is it coming from the something inside the tower? The internal speaker? What does it sound like?
If it's a low-pitched, rapid, clicking noise... your hard drive is probably dead.
[edit: At least I can still notice my spelling mistakes, even while drunk. ]
Probably sleeve bearing failure on one of your fans. Sleeve bearings are normally quieter that ball bearings, but wear out relatively quickly. Suggest you check your fans (particularly cpu fan) NOW.
Edit: normally.
.Political correctness is based on the principle that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
If by chance it is the cpu fan,and if it is an amd type processor...[be careful]when removing the fan or messing with the heat sink[even a little] as it can damage the chip underneath!
i had the exact same problem last week. i gave up trying to figure out whas wrong so took it to the repair shop.....when i picked it up i ask whats wrong? and he said that one of the ram wasnt inserted fully.
Where are you, The Kiler? Please tell us what type of sound you hear.
