I'm waiting for broadband to be available where I live. At the moment I'm on 56k dial-up, currently pegged to 48k by my ISP for some reason.

I want to know just how fast the different broadband speeds are.

So click on this link, and tell me how fast your broadband is, and how long it took for this page to download.

    Picture Gallery.

This took me 1 minute 55 seconds at 48k.

I don't need to click the link to be able to tell you that you'll be grinning from ear to ear when you get broadband after using dialup :-)

Now if only Telewest would get of their lazy asses and make the 1MB service available where I live so I can be even happier than I am with the 1/2MB service lol

Shit! I really am missing out. Although Cairns is a city, having only 130,000 people, we do lack many things other cities take for granted. At the moment we have no optical fibre cable here, and adsl only goes up to 3kms from the exchange. Our local electricity supplier is soon going to cable our area, I can't wait!
