For my os experts: got a problem

If I click start, the right click on my computer, then follow the path:
properties>advanced>startup and recovery settings in the default operating system field it says<"Microsoft Windows Whistler Personal" /fastdetect>
This computer is a Hewlitt Packard. I talked to a computer tech that said sometimes they sell an os that looks like xp but is actually some beta between win2000 and xp. This computer is fairly unstable, even after different formats of the hard drive. Besides right clicking on my computer and looking at general properties, is there another way to tell if you've got a patched os that is really not xp 5.1 2600?

oh i voted for millenium edition.

I'll have to say Me cause I never had any other OS
Luckely for me, next your will be a new year for purchasing a new pc (through work that is) and it looks like Xp will be the standard OS on that.

I totally agree with you. Windows Me was a disappointment. [/b][/quote]
don't you mean ME was an expensive waste of everyones time.

everyone except microsoft.

if it had been shit i could have thrown it on the garden, but it wasn't even good for that.
