Darwinian traits have just as much to do with propagation of the species (perhaps even more) as it does with personal survival. Considering this, the collectively more vain of our species would be more successful with mating, thus vanity makes for a beneficial trait with respect to the continuation of the human species. This applies throughout the animal kingdom, where I can cite grooming and showmanship as typical examples among a variety of species.

The Swede's instinct in this case was to be less concerned over injury, and more concerned over remaining in sexual favor with the elderly woman in the off chance she is not yet barren.

Why did you neglect to mention that there was absolutely nothing worth watching in that video? I can make many leaping assumptions as to why Idol didn't mention it, but you have a responsibility as a first responder, and that's saving lives minutes of our time.

I think the IMDB score is quite inflated, but at least a Godzilla (knockoff) movie made a modern monsters-destroy-cities and destroy stuff in CGI not involving pie plates, string, model trains, and smoke grenades. Also, absence of Mathew Broderick was a plus.

The Asian chick was pretty hawt, too.
