I have a virus called the LOP virus that you had to BUY a speacial program just to get rid of it. And I asked the LOP company how to uninstall and they sent me a uninstall program BUT THAT WAS ALSO ANOTHER VIRUS so I ruled out it was not a spyware ad company . I removed it manually but damaged some things. '

To be honest, never had one that i was aware of. Maybe way back in the 80's i may have had one, before anyone really understood what viruses were. But we were allways re-formating and re-installing stuff that they got wiped out anyways. Long before all this sofisticated crap thats around today.
But, i stay up to date these days as much as is possible - so far
