I detest shows that depict crying adults in every episode. This fits neatly into that category.
So I've never gotten to the parts which might be inspiring, I did get to the part where they film the almost naked fat people on the weighing scales at the start, it's grotesque - and I don't mean the visuals, I mean the exploitation for tellybucks.
I plan on beating him to death with his kids. I'll use them as a bludgeon on his face. -

--Good for them if they survive.

I'm certain there are "tons" of people who sit around and eat nothing but junkfood, and do not care about their health, what anyone thinks of them, or are willing to make the effort to improve. The people who are on shows like that have gone through interviews and have strong desires to overcome one of their greatest personal challenges. They aren't the ones to make fun of, IMO.
    OK.

I'll drop this and find something else.
No need to as it is something worthy of discussion. I just stated my position on the matter. I believe my initial take was somewhat similar to yours having only seen commercials. That instructor was truly touched by the success of the individuals on the program. That is what swayed me.

I have a friend that was trying to get onto that show. I don't think he ever made it. I think if he did lose weight, I'd be sad to never see him put his ashtray on his stomach again.

Reminds me of a program over here called something like 'pregnant and smoking'. There's something very disturbing about a pregnant woman gently cradling an ashtray on her 8 month bump.

The beauty of it was he didn't have to gently cradle it, he could put a dinner tray on there if he wanted. What about pregnant women resting their crack pipes on their bulbous bellies?

Probably fine. My sister-in-law smoked throughout her pregnancies and continued her dietary pecadillos of not eating vegetables or anything else remotely good for you, and she ended up with blonde, blue eyed giant babies with the IQs of mini Einsteins. Working classes you see: better constitutions.
