You do realize the, "I'm a pedophile because I champion free speech" won't stand up in court.

Edit: Actually it could, I could destroy free speech for everyone else via guilt by association.

Most of us don't hang out in America so the guilt by association thingy wouldn't work well on the extradition papers, they're having enough fun getting a hold of Kim Dotcom.

I keep on coming back to this thread and now that I am relaxed/pissed I don't feel so bad that I end threads so badly because until this post, you fucking killed this one stone dead macky, which is a shame and hopefully I will rudely restart this one / or not.

I think each of us feel a little pride in our ability to kill threads, but just pretend to complain. I think the thread authors should usually be the ones killing their threads, especially if they were out to make a point. However, my break was a little weak on this one. Maybe a post was removed and with it a context, but I just don't get it, post #15 that is.

Well now that I am left with coffee and and bad visual accuity to deal with after last night, my own post seems somewhat vapid as a segue, but while we are on the subject (which we aren't) 'the land of the free' is rapidly becoming the land of the electronically monitored.

Land of the Free is many things:

A showy display of American irony
    Propaganda for achieving selfish goals
    Hypocrisy legislation
    Outdated sentiment

It is not, however, a viable descriptor.

I find in many ways the most insidious legislation, the long in the offing, data recorders in new motor vehicles. The reason why I find this so insidious is that the legislation is touting 'Event Data Recorders' when features include GPS location with logging (i.e. a log of route information ) and the ability to disable the vehicles operation, thus bringing about the thin end of the wedge where you need permission before you can drive your own vehicle. Also how the 'Event Data' information is to be used and by what specific agencies is not laid out, the actual use of the data by the government is quite amorphous.
